Former Amherst football star found guilty of drug charges
Former Amherst County football star and Virginia Tech hopeful Peter Rose was found guilty of selling marijuana to an undercover deputy in a school zone, a felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
The felony charges stemmed from an exchange at the restaurant’s parking lot on U.S. 60, which investigators showed was well within 1,000 feet of Amherst Elementary School.
Rose faces one to five years in prison on each of the felony charges and up to 12 months in prison on the misdemeanor charges
